Katie Machuik

Katie Machuik of Ituna entered eternal rest on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Ituna Pioneer Lodge. Katie was born on August 17, 1922 in the Jedburgh district, second eldest daughter of Kost and Mary (nee Prybylski) Fedyk. She received her education at Nanton School and helped her parents on the family farm. She was a hard worker, always helping her dad. After her many friends she met Bill Machuik and were united in marriage on November 6, 1947 at St. Mary's Church in Yorkton. The couple farmed in the Goodeve district where Katie raised ducks and geese and cared for her big garden and beautiful flowers and always helped her husband with the chores. They were blessed with one son, Allan. Katie loved having her grandchildren spend summer holidays at her place. She was a faithful member of Holy Trinity Church in Goodeve and Sacred Heart Church in Ituna. She was predeceased by her husband Bill December 20, 1999; her dad in 1964, mom in 2001, brothers Joe 1992, Andrew 1973 and Walter 2005; sister Rose Halushka in 2016; brothers-in-law John Woychesko 1965, Andrew Stadnyk 1997 and Metro Halushka 2006. Katie leaves to cherish her memory her son Allan of Edmonton, Alberta; 2 grandchildren Robert of Ardrossan, Alberta married to Tara Machuik and Pamela of Perth, Australia married to Sean McCann, 4 great grandchildren, Hailey, Emily and Nathan Machuik and Pallas McCann; sister Jean Stadnyk of Melville; sisters-in-law Lily Fedyk of Yorkton and Sonia Fedyk of Thunder Bay, ON and numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Liturgy was held on Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Sacred Heart Ukrainian Catholic Church in Ituna with Rev. Father Basil Malowany as the Celebrant. The epistle reader was Hailey Machuik and the cross bearer was Nathan Machuik. The responses were led by Ladmer Moskal and Wayne Boczulak. The interment followed in the Sacred Heart Parish Cemetery with Clarence Woychesko, Brian Stadnyk, Alvin Fedyk, Kenny Elash, David Elash and Brian Patron serving as the casket bearers. Memorials in Katie's memory may be made to the Ituna Pioneer Lodge. VIchnaya Pamyat - Eternal Memory
