Mary Ellen Leon Of Arlington Heights Mary Ellen Leon was born on May 10, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois to Arthur and Nora (nee Frederick) Cooper. She died Thursday, March 5, 2020 at her home. Mrs. Leon was a librarian with Marietta College from 1971 - 1978 and later Harper Community College from 1978 until she retired in 1993. She enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening and travel. Mary Ellen is survived by her children, Ellen Leon (David) Carbonell, Edward Robert (Kim) Leon, and Carol Catherine (Robert) Zombo; her grandchildren, Christopher (Aida) Leon, Robert (Hailey) Leon, Jonathan Leon, Katherine Zombo, Sarah Zombo, and Adam Carbonell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leon, her parents and her brother, Arthur Frederick Cooper. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
