Dominic D. Durden was born on January 22, 1982 in Germany; he was the only child born to his parents. He was a true blessing from God. Dom as he was affectionately called could light up the room as soon as he walked into it. He had the calming presence and could calm the most frantic caller to the Riverside County Sheriff’s dispatch center. His voice was that of a deep, booming tone one moment, and then be the life of the party the next. He was a Canyon Springs High School graduate; accomplishing so much in his life time. He was profiled by The Press-Enterprise in 2001 as a student at Riverside Community College who had recently produced an earthquake-preparedness video for the city of Moreno Valley. He was also a former volunteer firefighter and 2002 Moreno Valley volunteer of the year “. He participated in drills, went out on emergency calls and performed administrative duties for the Fire Department. Dominic won a gold medal in a state video-production contest. He turned an internship with the city into a volunteer position and then a part-time job with its television station, MVTV-3. He was known to be a mellow and laid back guy. Dominic was a 30 year old licensed pilot who dreamed of becoming a deputy and joining the aviation unit. He loved to fly small planes and to go on quick getaways. He recently flew to Las Vegas for a weekend trip. One of his mother’s fondest memories is when he flew her to Big Bear just to have lunch. Dominic was just that guy who was always there for you and never hesitated to say “yes I will”. Dominic D. Durden went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2012 in Moreno Valley, California. He will forever be loved and cherished. Surviving are his loving parents Ricky Durden and his spouse Monica; Sabine Durden and her spouse Anthony; Grandmothers, Vera Baer and Ruby Hughes; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
