Marion McDonald Florence, South Carolina Obituary

Marion McDonald

God saw the road was getting rough, the hills so hard to climb; so He gently closed Mr. Marion McDonald’s eyes and whispered, “Peace Be Thine.” Mr. Marion McDonald was born on November 25, 1940 in Lake City, South Carolina. On Saturday morning, February 29, 2020, he departed this life at McLeod Hospice House. Marion was the son of the late Judge Lawrence and Excy Cameron McDonald. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters: Selma Harkless, Sally Allen, Norma Jean Williams and Nell Deas; and one brother, Timothy “Bobby” McDonald. Marion confessed Jesus as his personal savior and joined Majority Missionary Baptist Church. He was formerly employed with Nucor, Vulcraft for 20 years as a welder. Marion will be sadly missed by his children: Jenice Lighty, Pastor Rodney (Minister Carolyn) McDonald, Evangelist Tarry (Bishop Joe) Jackson and Bishop Barry (Minister Janique) McDonald; his grandchildren: Minister Moneika (Bishop Michael) Mitchell, Corry, Rochica Brown, Kevin, Damien, Monica Askins, Terrance (Veronica), Ajaia, Elijah, Teeaira and Rayven; great-grandchildren: Micaela, Khalil, Shakeim, Ronnie, Shaheim, Harmony, Kevin, Jr., Jahreon, Iyahna, David, Jacoby, Cameron, James, Jasmine, Jeremiah and Jordyn; 5 great-grandchildren; his twin brother, Minister Matthew (Edith) McDonald; his sister, Betty Byrd and Linda M. Sullen, who was like a sister to him; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
