Roger Dale Finkle Obituary

Roger Dale Finkle was born December 28, 1947 in Salem, Illinois to Eudora Rose (Weller) and Ralph Burdette Finkle. He passed away Sunday March 1, 2020 at the age of 72 years, 2 months and 2 days.
In 1954 Roger moved with his family from Illinois to Madill, Oklahoma, where he attended school graduating with the class of 1966. After graduation he attended Oklahoma State University from May 1966 - September 1968. His college education was interrupted when he received a draft notice from the United States Army. Roger served active duty from February 10, 1969 to February 9, 1971. During this time, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and several marksmanship medals. Roger was stationed at Fort Richardson, Alaska. Roger was very proud to be a veteran. He was married to Cindy Ninde on February 14, 1970, and to this union one son was born. After his service was fulfilled Roger moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. Roger was partners in a sporting goods store, a travel agency, and a construction company. For many years Roger enjoyed shooting trap, attending gun shows, and hunting with his friends every chance he got. Roger loved helping youth trap shooters and always had a tall tale to tell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, Sara Martin, 1 infant brother, Kenneth Finkle; 1 niece, Shannon Russell.
He is survived by his son, Brett Finkle, Stillwater, OK; brother, R.B. Finkle, Rockport, TX; brother-in-law, Jim Martin, Newcastle; nephew, Jimmie Martin and wife Kristin, Yukon, OK; niece, Shelly Fisher and husband Carl, West Port, OK; and his best friend Carol Brown and husband Leslie Dykes, Elk City, OK; and a host of relatives and many, many friends throughout the country.
A celebration of life will be held during the Oklahoma state trap shoot on Friday evening June 5, 2020 at the Oklahoma Trap and Skeet Club, 5100 South Evans Road, El Reno, OK.
