Robert Edward Dennis,89. passed away Dec. 3, 2017. He was born in Trenton, N.J. and moved to Jacksonville in 1953, with his wife Dolores a Jacksonville native and his first son Robert Jr. He later said it was the best decision he ever made. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dolores and son Ronald and wife Allyson. He is survived by sons Robert Jr (Laura), Donald (Jeannette) Steven (Deanna), and daughter Carol (Randy).He has 12 grandchildren and 14 greatgrandchildren. Born on Nov.18,1928, he grew up during the great depression and World War 2. Times were tough and families and friends had to pull together to make ends meet that experience forged his personality to be a very generous person. He was always available to help in any way he could to family and friends until the end of his days. He served in the U.S. Navy and retired from Maxwell House Coffee .For many years he could be seen at the Prince of Peace Catholic Church serving the Lord. He also worked as a volunteer at St Lukes Hospital .His humility was infectious and his dedication to family steadfast. He will be forever missed, God Bless and a job well done. A memorial service will be held at Holiday Hill Baptist Church Dec 16 at 11AM. He will be interned at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
