Belvalene Hamlett Cameron, age 90, daughter of John and Beatrice Smith Hamlett, who was born, March 13, 1927 in Durham, North Carolina passed away Friday December 1, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She was retired from the Federal Reserve Bank and worked for twenty years as an usher at the Times-Union Center. Belvalene was actively involved in her service sorority Beta Sigma Phi and attended church regularly at Glynlea Grace United Methodist Church. Belvalene was preceded in death by her husband Frederick Cameron and daughter Faye Cameron Ervin. She is survived by her daughter Freida A. Cameron; grandchildren Frederick Allen (Chanda), Amy Shearer (David), Cameron Duncan (Michelle); great grandchildren Cody Allen, Cheyenne Allen, Kelly Shearer, Allison Shearer, Brooke Shearer, Jeremiah Duncan, and Brighton Duncan; brother James D. Hamlett; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive guests for a Visitation 10AM to 11AM, Tuesday December 5, 2017 at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32211. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 11AM in the Chapel.
