Rhonda Gail Slaven, age 59, resident of Lewisville, Indiana, and formerly of New Castle, passed away Saturday November 5, 2016 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. She was born January 4, 1957 in New Castle, Indiana, a Daughter of Jerry David and Ruth Ann Hamm Ballenger. She was a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School and attended Ivy Tech for four years. She had worked for Auto Care in Hagerstown, Indiana and Osborne Corporation in Richmond. She currently was employed by Boars Head in New Castle. She was very involved with her family’s activities and love sharing time with her family and friends. Rhonda enjoyed raising flowers, doing yard work, archery, playing bingo, and trips to the casino. Left to cherish her loving memory include: two Sons; Scott Branscum of Anderson, Indiana and Matt Branscum of Lewisville, Indiana, one Grandchild, Ean Southerland of New Castle, Indiana, Father, Jerry David Ballenger (Wife, Roberta) of New Castle, Indiana, Siblings; Carol Lynn Ballenger Wise of New Castle, Sandra Kay Ballenger (Wife, Rose Zuk) of Atlanta, Georgia, Karen Sue Ballenger Dean (Husband, Dennis) of Richmond, Indiana, David Mark Ballenger of Middletown, Indiana, and also many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles. She was preceded in death by: her Mother, Ruth Ann Ballenger, Husband, Frank Slaven, and one Son, Douglas Wayne Branscum. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. Wednesday November 9, 2016 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday November 10, 2016 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
