Vincent C. McGinnis, 92, of Freeport, died Monday November 14, 2016 at Manor Court. Vincent was born on July 13, 1924 the son of Joseph and Catherine (Blimm) McGinnis. On July 19, 1945 he married Gladys Denton in Tacoma, Washington. Mr. McGinnis served in the Army Air Corp in the European Theatre as a tail gunner on B-17 “Slotime Sally”. He owned and operated McGinnis Company's. Vincent was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Freeport American Legion. He enjoyed flying with friends and going to bomb group conventions. Surviving are his wife, Gladys McGinnis of Freeport; sons, Jim McGinnis of Freeport and Joe (Lynette) McGinnis of Green Bay, WI.; sister, Marie Bowman of Freeport; granddaughter, Melissa McGinnis; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Pagel and Brian Swanson. Also surviving are six step-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lawrence; and two sisters, Eileen and Marcella.
