John Francis Fennell - age: 81 (January 31, 1932 to January 13, 2014 ) Resident of Allenwood, New Jersey Visitation Information: Visitation: Monday, January 20, 2014 Time: 11 am to 12 noon Place: Here Service: Monday, January 20, 2014 Time: 11:30 am Place: Here Obituary: John “Jack” F Fennell, 82, passed peacefully at the Geraldine Thompson Care Center, Allenwood after a long illness on Monday, January 13, 2014. Born on January 31, 1932 to the late Michael and Eleanor Fennell of Jersey City where he grew up. He graduated with honors from St. Peter’s College, Jersey City in June of 1954 with a degree in English. John was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served in the armed forces. Mr. Fennell had a career in advertising and marketing consulting for over thirty years. John and his family lived at various times in Jersey City, Sea Girt, Fort Lee and Cliffside Park. Throughout his life John was a crossword puzzle lover and avid reader. John would always love to visit a local library on a weekly basis. He was a huge sports enthusiast, the Jets, Knicks and Mets were his favorite teams. He especially loved all animals especially his dogs over the years Sammy, Ginger and Ellie. He was a parishioner of The Church of the Epiphany of Cliffside Park, NJ. He did so love to socialize with friends and neighbors who resided in his senior Cliffside Park Housing development in Cliffside Park the past 20 years. He will be missed very much by his caregiver of three years Anna Lobasso of Cliffside Park. He was predeceased by his loving wife Rose Marie Fennell in 1998. He is survived by two brothers, older brother Robert and younger brother Michael Fennell, his 4 loving children, three daughters, Sheila Sarnasi and husband Charles P. Jr. of Brielle; Patricia Duva and husband Greg of Hammonton, NJ; Claire Crandall and husband David of California his one son John Michael Fennell of Little Ferry; his three cherished grandchildren Madison, Chip and Sarah Rose and many other extended family members. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Family and friends are invited to gather Monday January 20 from 11 am until 12 noon at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in John’s memory to Associated Humane Society 2960 Shafto Road Tinton Falls, NJ 07753.
