Mamie L. "GG" Kaigley

Mamie L. “GG” Kaigley, 88, of Dalton City, IL passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020. A service to honor and celebrate Mamie’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Mamie will be laid to rest next to her husband William in Marrowbone Cemetery, Bethany. Memorial contributions may be directed to Evergreen Senior Living Activities Department. Mamie was born on February 13, 1932 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Delmar and Pearl Bryant. She married William J. Kaigley on December 31, 1951. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2001. Mamie was a member of Mt. Zion Assembly of God and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an amazing cook and an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. She was a loving and wonderful mother, grandmother, mother-in-law and friend. Mamie was strong-willed and the most selfless and giving person. Family was the most important thing in Mamie’s life. Mamie is survived by her children: William J. (Cathy) Kaigley, Jr. of Dalton City, IL, Thomas L. (Sheila) Kaigley of Dalton City, IL and Karen (John) Hicks of Oreana, IL; brother: Jim (Delores) Bryant of Decatur, IL; sisters: Darlene (Bud) Greenwood of Mt. Zion, IL, Barbara Bryant of Florida, Jacqueline K. Savage of Ripley, TN; grandchildren: Steffanie (Craig) Jones of Dalton City, IL, Tony Hicks of Decatur, IL, Stephen Hicks and David Hicks both of Oreana, IL; great grandsons: Victor and Wyatt Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Kathy Evans and eight brothers and sisters.
