Katherine Laura Soule, 74, of Plainfield, NJ, died peacefully on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at her home in Plainfield, New Jersey after a brief illness.   Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm in St. Joseph Church, 41 Manning Avenue, N. Plainfield, NJ. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at 10 am in The Church of Saint Joseph, Plainfield, NJ followed by her burial at Saint Teresa of Avila Cemetery, Summit, NJ. For more information or to send condolences please visit www.ippolitofuneralhomes.com.  Katherine Soule was born on July 8, 1945 in Atlanta, Georgia to Dr. James and Katherine Sheehy. She attended Marywood College where she was elected president of her senior class and graduated with a teaching degree. On August 26, 1967 she married Hendrick Soule and together they raised six children. She was a grammar schoolteacher in the Jamesville-DeWitt school system in Syracuse, NY. She and Hendrick moved the family, then with two children, to New Jersey in 1975. They became active members of the People of Hope, a Catholic Charismatic Community. Katherine taught 4th grade at Koinonia Academy for seven years. She became known for her warm smile and kindness. After Hendrick’s retirement from Lockheed Martin in 2011 and their children now adults, they moved as a couple into a small house on the Koinonia Academy campus where they have served the school as volunteers since then. Katherine had an unmistakable flair for fashion, decorating, and cooking. Kathy lived her life dedicated to her faith, her husband, children, family, friends and students. Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years, Hendrick Soule, her loving six children Laura Soule Kelly and her husband, Partrick, Katherine Soule VanBuskirk and her husband, George, James Edward Soule and his wife Janice, Clare Soule Dominguez, William Patrick Soule and his wife Lauren, Kevin John Soule, her cherished grandchildren Nicholas and his wife, Clare, Margaret and her husband Joseph, Allison, Jacob, Olivia, Walker, Katherine, Harper, William, Allihandro and Cody, and her four great-grandchildren, her dear sister Ann Raymond, brothers William Sheehy, Dr. James Sheehy, and Kevin Sheehy.
