Beverly Bayes

HILLSBOROUGH: Beverly Lynn Bayes, 59, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at her home in Hillsborough. She was born in El Paso, Texas to her father, George Franklin Hunt, and her late mother, Sue Fisher Trammell Hunt. She is also predeceased by her husband, Roger “Smokey” Larue Bayes. In addition to her father, Mrs. Bayes is survived by her daughter, Megan Bayes; brothers, Bobby Hunt (Michelle), Blane Dawson, David Hunt (Julie); sisters, Tessa Dawson (Danny Dugan), Stephanie Singleton (Robert), Kathleen Kellaigh (Joel Robertson); and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bayes was a huge UNC Tar Heel fan. She was a loving mother who loved her daughter’s friends like they were her own children. Mrs. Bayes’ smile and laugh was infectious and lit up the room. A memorial service will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 15th at the Bahama Ruritan Club. The family is being assisted by Clements Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. in Hillsborough.
