Algean (Gibbs) Budde Obituary

Algean R. Budde, 82, of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday morning, January 26, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 30 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Bellevue. Friends and family may call from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, Saturday morning prior to Mass, at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Bellevue. Algean was born on January 20, 1934, in LaMotte, daughter of Edmund and Gertrude (Entringer) Gibbs. She married Eldred Budde on July 8, 1952, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, in LaMotte. They were married for 47 years. Eldred passed away December 20, 1999. Algean farmed for 47 years while raising eight children. She ran Flower Lane with her sister Dorothy, and later with her daughter’s Sally and Lori. Algean was welcoming to everyone. She always enjoyed sports and time in her garden. Algean will be deeply missed. Those left to honor her memory include her 8 children, Joan (Rick) Klemme, of Bellevue, Sally Michels, of Bellevue, Lori Michels, of Bellevue, Kate (Kevin) Medinger, of Bellevue, Beth (Jeff) Bodenholfer, of Maquoketa, Amy (Jason) Schiffer, of Bellevue, Mike Budde, of Chicago, and Dennis Budde, of Preston; 20 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; four brothers, Harold (Joyce), Ed (Karen), Larry (Carolyn), Steve (Mary); two sisters in-law Rosella and Irma Gibbs; and many nieces and nephews. Algean is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Lloyd and Donald; two sisters, Dorothy Weinschenk and Mary Cheney; and son in-law, Gary Michels.
