Lupe Ocanaz Obituary

March 19, 1963-November 5, 2016 Lupe Ocanaz of Walla Walla passed away at her home on November 5th, 2016, at the age of 53 in the presence of her family. Up until her last breath, Lupe showed incredible strength and fought an unimaginable battle before making her journey into heaven. She will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know her and her beautiful smile. Lupe Ocanaz was born on March 19th, 1963 in Walla Walla, Washington to Julian and Teodora Ocanaz. Lupe graduated from Walla Walla High School with the class of 1981. Lupe devoted her time to providing care to others in need, making her career as a caregiver. Lupe enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, watching her Dallas Cowboys and living each day to the fullest. Her greatest accomplishment will always be the birth of her only son, Nicholas Ray and the addition of her granddaughter Rainee Lynn, for whom she lived her life for. Lupe had a smile that could light up a room, a liveliness that was unexplainable and a fiery sarcasm that could stop you in your tracks. She will forever live on in the hearts of all that knew her and her smile will never be forgotten. Lupe has now been reunited with her parents, Julian and Teodora in Heaven, where she will watch over and bless each of us until we meet again. Lupe was preceded in death by her father, Julian Ocanaz and her mother, Teodora Ocanaz. She is survived by her son, Nicholas and Stormee Ocanaz of Walla Walla, four brothers and two sisters, Luis and Debra Ocanaz, Manuel and Nelda Ocanaz, Domingo and Judy Ocanaz, Maria and Santos Garcia and Ramon Ocanaz all of Walla Walla and Rosie and Rick McEvoy of Milton Freewater. Lupe is also survived by one granddaughter, Rainee Ocanaz and several nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 12th at 1pm at CenterPoint Church, with reception to follow. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society through Mountain-View Colonial Dewitt Funeral Home, 1551 The Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
