Debbie A. Maus

Debbie Ann Maus, 60 of Kansas, Illinois, passed away at 3:52 a.m. Wednesday, February 26, 2020, in the emergency room of Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital in Mattoon, Illinois. She was a devoted homemaker. She was born March 16, 1959, in Monticello, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Hobart F. and Dorothy V. (Gann) Wheeler. She married Chris Shoot on April 12, 1980, in Charleston, Illinois. He preceded her in death November 21, 2008. She later married Shannon Maus on October 12, 2009, in Greenfield, Indiana, and he survives. Other survivors include three children, Crystal Shoot, David (Billie Jean) Shoot, and Misty (Jeremy) Conley all of Kansas; three brothers, Douglas (Evelyn) Wheeler of Oakland, Illinois, and Dwight (Celeste) Wheeler and Michael (Tammy) Wheeler both of Greenfield; a sister, Carol (John) Brewer of Findlay, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Christina Maltman, Ivory and Vince Bean, Haley, Christopher, Laila, and Shelby Shoot, Ryellie Roberts, and Alexis Conley; a great-grandson, Cole Maltman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sons, Christopher and Michael Gobert and Daniel Shoot; two sisters, Glenda Rutledge and Shirley Bloxom, as well as two infant siblings. Debbie will be remembered as a generous person who loved her family and also enjoyed gardening and the outdoors. SERVICE INFORMATION Services celebrating her life were conducted at 12:00 noon on Monday, March 2, 2020, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Minister Bret Hammond officiated, and burial followed in Mound Cemetery in Charleston. Visitation was one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
