Terry Lynn Myers was born July 14th, 1953 in Amherst, Texas to Ada Joan (Hayes) and Preston Duane Myers. He passed away February 26, 2020 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 12 days. Terry grew up on a cotton farm in Vinson, Oklahoma. He attended grade school at Vinson and when they closed began attending Hollis public school where he graduated in 1971. After graduation he furthered his education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and also worked for the federal soil conservation district. In the late 1970's he began his career in road construction as a heavy equipment operator. He continued until he moved to Jackson, Tennessee where he worked for the Salvation Army. Terry was a Bible scholar and enjoyed woodworking, meticulously taking care of his yard, hunting, fishing, leading singing at church and caring for his dogs. He is preceded in death by his father and his twin sister, Jerry Guynn He is survived by his mother, Joan Stalling, Elk City, OK; Emery Myers and wife, Cristi, Mangum, OK, Brenda West and husband, Joe, Leedey, OK, Marilyn Bell, Reed, OK; 10 nieces and nephews and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends. The family would like to extend their gratitude toward Comforting Hands Hospice, as well as a special thank you to Bell Avenue Nursing Center. Memorial Services will be held Friday February 27, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. at the Red River Cowboy Church in Mangum, Oklahoma officiated by Darrell Coffman. Services are under the direction of Chris Whinery and the staff of Affordable Cremation Service - West.
