Dr. Robert Morris Newhouse went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 25, 2011. He was born on March 31, 1922 to August Morris and Yvonne Lorget Newhouse in Los Angeles, California. Robert, or Dr. Bob as he was known to many, grew up in Glendale California and proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a corpsman and pharmacy mate during World War II. Upon returning, he graduated from the University of Southern California in 1948 and the California College of Medicine receiving a Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 1953 that was redesignated as a Doctorate of Medicine or MD in 1962. His medical career spanned 47 ½ years in general practice in both Burbank and Glendale. Doctor Newhouse was also on staff at Glendale Adventist, Glendale Memorial and Glendale Community hospitals. He was the City of Glendale's Physician between 1971 and 2001. He was also the Medical Director of Casa Verdugo, Windsor Manor and Leisure Glen Convalescent Hospitals until November 2001. Because of his God-given ability to listen to and work with people, he was a member and leader of numerous medical associations and hospital committees. Most importantly, he was a humble man of God, cared greatly for his entire family, treating all as he believed Christ would. Dr Bob was unique in his compassion and caring for people. Like his father and brother, he was an avid fan of USC football. Following retirement he and his wife Beverly had many adventures and travels in their motorhome with towed Jeep visiting friends and family members. They frequently traveled with several Coaches of Christ RV groups and other RV groups enjoying their time making new friendships. They were also blessed by their friends at City Christian Church in Menifee, CA. Dr. Newhouse is survived by his wife Beverly, brother Ray and wife Fumiko, son Gregory and wife Jeanine Newhouse, daughter Lori McConehea and husband Dave Constant, and stepson Robin Sepe; as well as 7 grandchildren Meagan Newhouse, Nicole Newhouse, Chris Newhouse, Ian McConehea, Shane McConehea, Jeanice Lee and Janna Lee; and his nephew John and wife Nancy Newhouse. He is predeceased by his first wife Marion Ruth Bonthius and son Jeffrey Alan Newhouse.
