James E. Renshaw, Sr., 95, of Rock Falls, Iowa died Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. Memorial services will be held at 2 PM Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave., Mason City, IA with Pastor Paul Schaefer Plymouth Bible Baptist Church officiating. Memorials may be directed to the James Renshaw Memorial Fund. James was born May 29, 1921 in Hanford, IA the son of George and Amanda (Banken) Renshaw. On November 3, 1942 James enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp serving his country until his honorable discharge on December 8, 1945. James ended his tour as an instructor in the flight engineer school. James was united in marriage to Iona Lord and to this union two children were born. James had an avid passion for fishing and spending time outdoors. He was an animal lover and enjoyed watching all of God’s creations in the wild. He was a true fix-it man if it was broken he could fix it. He was known to manufacture a replacement part if one was not available. James enjoyed inventing and trying new things. Those thankful for having shared in James’s life include his children, Ruth Marine Yegi, James Renshaw Jr.; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a nephew, Steve (Birin) Nichols. Mr. Renshaw was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Iona; two sisters, Ruth Renshaw and Doris Renshaw Cormey.
