Rose “Pat” Marie Cornell (Clay), 84 of Jackson, NJ died on Thursday May 12, 2011 at home. Born in Poughkeepsie, NY she lived in Florida and Tennessee before moving to Jackson, NJ 2 years ago. She received her Masters' Degree in Music and Education at State University of New York in New Paltz, NY. She was a music teacher with Dover High School in NY State for many years then went on to work as a Choral Director with Hope Presbyterian in Dandridge, TN. She sang at Carnegie Hall, directed high school musicals, traveled to every state, but Hawaii, part of the greatest generation, she sang with her sister as “The Clay Sisters” on Gene Rayburn's Radio Show, and also sailed extensively with her husband after retirement. Predeceased by her husband Stanley “Pete W. Cornell. Survived by her son Marc and his wife Debbie of Jackson, NJ, her daughter Carrie Buzzelli and her husband Thomas Dayton of OH, and five grandchildren Matthew, Jonathan, Sarah, Thomas III and Shawna.
