Monica “Chi Chi” Johnston, aged 92, of Grand Rapids, peacefully joined her loving husband Samuel and son Tom Johnston in heaven on Wednesday, February 26, 2020. She is survived by her children, Madalyn and Daniel Wolf, John Samuel and Maureen Johnston, Tim and Lori Johnston; daughters-in-law, Cheryl Johnston and Terri Johnston; 11 grandchildren, Patric Wolf, Carrie (Steve) Schumacher, Tyler (Tara) Johnston, Adam (Kalyn) Johnston, Zachary (Melissa) Johnston, Brandi Johnston (Dom), Sean (Shannon) Johnston, Travis (Lindsey) Johnston, Jennifer Johnston, Michael Johnston, Ryan (Ashlee) Johnston; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren.  Monica loved spending time with her family, her Irish heritage, traveling, outings to the casino and lottery tickets. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice staff, especially Stephanie, Christina, and Cullyne for their loving care.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 29, 10:00 am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 4101 Clyde Park S.W., with Fr. John Vallier as celebrant.  Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Visitation at church on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 am prior to the service.  Private interment Rosedale Memorial Park.  Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice (3230 Eagle Park Dr. NE #200, Grand Rapids MI  49525).
