Vera Smith
Vera Mae Smith, 101, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012. Vera Mae was born Oct. 14, 1910, in Claude to Austin and Kate Beene. She had three brothers, Hugh, Reagan and Morris, and a sister, Annie. She married J.L. Smith on Aug. 19, 1927. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Euless. Vera Mae loved the Lord, her family and her friends whom she taught in Sunday school during World War II at North Dallas Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the staff and attendants at LaDora Nursing Home and the nurses with American Hospice for the love and care they gave to our mother. Vera Mae was preceded in death by her husband, J.L.; daughter, Molly Kate; and grandson, Bobby. Survivors: Son, Leland Smith and wife, Juanita; grandchildren, Mark Smith and his wife, Marianne, Donny Tanner and wife, Marcia, Misty Robertson and husband, Joe; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.January 26, 201201/26/2012
