Christine “Chris” Lynn Walter, age 72, of Appleton, passed away on November 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born to the late Ralph Missling and Edith Maynard-Hopkins on January 5, 1945. She married John Walter on March 13, 1965. She retired from Fox Communities Credit Union in Appleton. Chris enjoyed taking bus trips with her husband and traveling. She liked to collect baby dolls. Chris loved talking to her former classmates, friend and family. A lot of her time was spent with her family where she would often cook and bake meals for them. She would often skype with her grandson Miles who she loved and adorned. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, John; her children: Candice Walter of Kaukauna, Scott Walter of San Diego, California, Travis (Amanda) Walter of Cumming, Georgia and their son Miles; brothers: John Hopkins and Steve Hopkins; sisters: Joanne Eastman, Cindy Milhaupt, and Sandy (John) Hejtmanek; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; she is preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service for Chris will be held at 12 NOON on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Brettschneider Trettin Nickel Funeral Chapel with Deacon CF Dedman officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
