Marva Neadstine Obituary

Marva M. Neadstine, 74, of Decatur died at 8:15 a.m. on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Woodcrest Nursing Center. She was born on October 18, 1935 in Elliot, ND to Melvin and Noma (Imboden) Strahm. She was married to Jerry F. Neadstine; he passed away on September 26, 1995. She is survived by a son Ken J. (Diann) Neadstine on Monroe, IN; 2 daughters Mrs. Mark (Debra A.) Shorter of Kokomo, IN and Mrs. Jeffrey (Sandra K.) Johnson of Monroe, IN; 4 sisters Bernadine Foreman of Berne, IN, Marwayne Grant of Decatur, IN; Mrs. Lavonne (Milburn) Cross of Roanoke, IN, Mrs. Berneice (Neil) Mailloux of Monroe; 8 grandchildren Bret (Andrea) Shorter, Jared (Cari) Shorter, Trisha (Kurt) Ringger, Brian Bluhm, Kyle (Amanda) Bluhm, Jena (Daniel) Roe, Ashley (Aaron) Gaskill, Austin Neadstine; 13 great grandchildren; a special friend Gene Mitchel of Decatur, IN. She was preceded in death by a brother Delbert Strahm; 2 sisters Ilene Ellenberger and Ramona Beer; a granddaughter Michelle Shorter. Marva was a member of St. Luke Church in rural Decatur, where she was active in St. Luke Helping Hands and she was also the church Treasurer for many years. She worked as a homemaker. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at Haggard & Sefton Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Luke Church on Thursday, February 25, 2010, with calling one hour prior to the service at the church. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Wertenberger and Pastor Rick Pulling. Burial will take place in the Springhill (Backesto) Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Luke Helping Hands or to The Deacon Fund.
