Thomas Gordon Zurlinden, 73, of Metamora formerly of Oxford, died Friday February 21, 2020. He was born September 23, 1946 in Cleveland, OH to parents John Richard and Virginia (Kress) Zurlinden. He married Carlota (Gonzales) Olitres on both January 7th and the 12th, 1994 in the Philippines. Thomas was always very proud of his 39 year career with Chrysler, primarily at the design studio in Auburn Hills. He was a gifted clay sculpting specialist, improving on many ‘engineered designs’ over the years. Mr. Zurlinden was also known to love trying food and being a great cook. He was also a fan of jazz, especially Miles Davis. He will be missed. Tom is survived by his wife of 26 years: Carlota, children: Liane (Kyle) Jobin, Mathew Zurlinden and Julie Zurlinden, granddaughters: Emma & Aubrey, sisters: Pam Ehrhardt, Jane Dryer, Mary Lou Roderick and Dawn Zurlinden. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Jack & Jeffrey Zurlinden as well as his parents. Cremation has been entrusted with Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. No formal services will be scheduled at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Stroke Association.
