Jerry L. Mendicino, "Si'e spento serenamente oggi" Essex Junction Jerry Lewis Mendicino, born Dec. 31, 1931 in Cleveland, OH, passed away peacefully at home in Essex Junction, Vermont on December 4, 2012 of natural causes in the company of his loving family. Jerry is survived by his beloved wife Jane Ann (Daley) of South Burlington where they were married at St John Vianney Church on February 19, 1955. Jerry is also survived by his children: Jerome and Kate Reininger-Severin and their children, Jeremy, Micaela, Devon, Siobhan and Marie; Francesco and Kelaine (Crookston) and their children Amanda, Amelia, Rebekah and Ethan; John and Cindy (Norris) and their children Aaron, Lindsay and Joseph; Patrick and Cheryl (Streeter) and their children Alan Jr. and Heather with Sumner and Caleb, Carol with Collin, Brandon, Alexis and Memphis; Christy and Scott Robert and their children Nicole, Christian, Scotty Jr., and Jeffrey; Ann Marie and Chris Wrynn and their children James and Matthew. Jerry was born the second child of the late Francesco and Mildred (Caputo) Mendicino of Parma, OH, His Sisters Delores and Annette and his brother Richard survive him as well. Beloved by all who knew him, Jerry was a football, wrestling and baseball athlete at West Tech High. He enlisted in the Air Force in 1952 where he served as Radio Electronics Technician in the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge he worked in Communications and Cryptography at the Vermont Air National Guard for 40 years, retiring as Senior Chief Master Sergeant, a non-commissioned officer at the top of his game. A lifelong Granger, Jerry loved traveling and camping with his family, and in retirement greatly enjoyed building and running the National Guard Museum at Camp Johnson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Lawrence Catholic Church where Jerry served faithfully as lecturer for over 20 years, on West St. in Essex Jct. Saturday Dec 8, 2012 at 1:30 PM with Reverend Charles Ranges S.S.E. officiating. We will miss the laughter, antics and wisdom of one of God's valiant sons. He left this world a better place for having lived here 80 years. We love you and thank you, Jerry.
