Elsie Mae Crocker Boykin, 84, passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield. Elsie was born in Johnston County on July 26, 1935, one of twelve children, to the late Johnnie and Nellie Boykin Crocker. She worked as a seamstress for many years at Johnson and Johnson Apparel. Elsie was a member of Mount Zion Original Free Will Baptist Church. Family was paramount to Elsie. She always enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 24, 2020 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Kenly Funeral Service followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel. Interment will be in Mount Zion O.F.W.B. Church Cemetery. Elsie is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jesse Boykin; sons, Mike Boykin of Middlesex and Joey Boykin and wife Tina of Kenly; daughter, Sandra Gail Boykin Ezzell and husband Ken of Wilson; sisters, Betty House of Kenly and Letty Ray of Kenly; and grandchildren, Andrea Ezzell, Josh Boykin and wife Cynthia, Logan Boykin and Dylan Pinder.
