Stanley E. Rychlicki Caledonia: On November 24, 2014, just shy of his 95th birthday, Stan passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at home. Predeceased by his parents Stanley and Michalena Rychlicki of Nanticoke, PA, his loving wife of 65 years, Rosemary V., his daughter Gloria of Caledonia, his brother Frank Rychlicki of Kenmore, NY, his sister Stella Helmecki of Nanticoke, PA, his brother Joseph Bielarski of Nanticoke, his sister, Jennifer of Nanticoke, PA. Stan is survived by his sons Stanley M, Joseph (Pamela) ,Arnold (Karen) Rychlicki; grandchildren, Jenea Rychlicki, Stash Merritt, Jennifer, Samantha, Aaron, Jacob Rychlicki; several nieces and nephews. During the depression era, Stan worked at the Civilian Conservation Corps Camps. He served as a sergeant in the Army Corp during WWII. After the war he worked as a PA coal miner. He then worked for ARCO as a pipeline walker for 35 years. He earned a Guinness Book of World Records title for most career miles walked (137,000). He was a custodian and usher for St. Columba Church, and hand dug graves for St. Columba Cemetery. He was also a custodian for Niagara Mohawk and Cal Mum Central School. He was a member of American Legion Post 255 of Caledonia (commander’s aide). Stan was an avid fisherman, fish taxidermist, speaker/story teller, car show enthusiast with his 1985 Caddy, extreme Buffalo Bills fan, “flag man” who displayed multiple versions of the Star Spangled Banner. He participated in the Honor Flight Rochester and was a speaker/supporter/participant of over 30 army missions. Friends are invited to call at the Alhart Funeral Home, Friday, November 28, 2014 from 4-7PM, 3068 West Main St., Caledonia. His Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 9AM at St. Columba Church, North Street, Caledonia. Interment will take place at St. Columba Cemetery, Caledonia.
