She had been employed by the State of New Jersey Judiciary, first as a Probation Officer, then as a Court Services Supervisor, for the Superior Court in Freehold, until retiring due to illness in 2008. She fought a long and courageous battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Christine was born in Yonkers, N.Y., and raised in Chappaqua, N.Y. She lived in Spring Lake Heights for many years until moving to Wall in 2002. She was a Cum Laude graduate of the State University of New York at Albany. She served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Rose Church, was President of the Spring Lake Heights P.T.A. in 1985, where she was known for her successful fund-raising efforts, and was a volunteer and participant in the Monmouth County MS Walk for many years. In addition, she enjoyed gardening, especially growing red roses, as well as spending time at the South End beach at Spring Lake. She also was an avid dog-lover, particularly of Newfoundlands, Clumber Spaniels and Dachshunds. She was also an avid Yankee fan. But most importantly, she was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt. Christine was pre-deceased by her mother Claire Hanrahan Brown and her brother Michael Brown. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey M. Vince and her daughter Katherine E. Vince, both of Spring Lake Heights. Also surviving are her brothers, Patrick and Stephen Brown, of New York, and her sisters, Barbara Brown, Colette Goodman, and Laura Collins, all of New York, and Claudia Schaus, of Connecticut. She is also survived by her siblings’ spouses, numerous nieces and nephews, and her friend and ex-husband, Mark Vince, of Spring Lake Heights.
