June Riggs

June Elizabeth Summers Riggs, 92, of San Saba joined the Lord on Tuesday, April 16, 2019. June was born on January 30, 1927, to Jesse James and Edna Inez Dobbs Summers in Holt, TX. He attended Richland springs schools until moving to Dallas to work and help oy her family during WWII. She married Woodrow W. Riggs on September14, 1946. January 1964 began the first of 9 moves as Woody was promoted and transferred. June spent the next 20+ years packing and unpacking for moves and making each new place a loving home and preparing her wonderful meals. June enjoyed collecting Antiques, Depression Glass, Hull Pottery, and many other treasures. She enjoyed traveling in their Airstream ad the best trips were when Summer joined them. She was known for her smile, kindness, big heart, compassion, true and loyal love of her family and friends and her beloved Coyotes. She is a faithful and true servant of the Lord. She is survived by her daughter Sandy of Spicewood and San Saba, her son, Steve of Pflugerville, granddaughter Summer of Austin, special daughter Susan of Bastrop and great grand dog Shelby of Susan and her special rescue dog Abby. She is also survived by her brothers, Chuck and Clara Summers of Stockton, CA, Clifton and Jean Summers of Midland, TX. Brother-in-law Marvin and Barbara Riggs of San Saba, and many nieces and nephews. June was preceded in death by her parents, Woody, her brother and sister-in-law, James Orville and Bobbye Summers and their Son Timothy Summers, sister and brother-in-law, Nell and Don Harris, and their daughter, Sheila Harris. Pallbearers were: Rick Harris, Michael Nelson, Carter Plumley, Cody Plumley, Marcus Riggs, and Matthew Riggs. Honorary Pallbearers were: Sammy Plumley, Don Riggs, Marvin Riggs, Ray Riggs, Chuck Summers, and Clifton Summers. In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shiloh Bible Church or San Saba Friends of Animals. Services and visitation were under the direction of Heritage Funeral.
