Eunice Godwin Smith, 90, of Fuquay-Varina, NC passed away February 14, 2018. Mrs. Smith was born in Cumberland County on December 1, 1927 to the late Purdie D. and Docia Godwin of Linden, NC. She was a member of Samaria Baptist Church, Raleigh, NC for many years. She attended Louisburg College. She was a loving wife and caring mother who loved her family dearly. She retired from Raleigh Lions Clinic for the Blind. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry M. Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory, her four sons: Larry W. Smith and Windy of Fuquay-Varina; Thomas W. Smith and Julie of Raleigh; Donald R. Smith and Anita of Cary; David L. Smith and Sharon of Raleigh; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Allene Stephens of Linden and Faye Gaines of Holden Beach and sister-in- law Virginia Godwin of Fayetteville. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm with services at 2:30pm at Montlawn Funeral Home, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC. Burial will be at Montlawn Cemetery in Raleigh. The family will receive friends at the home of Larry Smith, 712 Rushing Falls Place, Fuquay-Varina, NC after the services.
