Mabel Joan (Quam) Hanson, 92, died Dec. 22, 2015, at the Good

Samaritan Society in Larimore. A family service will be held at 7 p.m.

Sunday (Dec. 27) at The Good Samaritan Society Chapel in Larimore. The

funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday (Dec. 28) at Elk Valley

Lutheran Church in McCanna, ND . Viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be at Elk Valley Lutheran Church in the spring.

Mabel (Quam) Hanson was born to John and Claudia (Larson) Quam on Jan. 17, 1923 at Hamar, N.D. She attended North Dakota School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, graduating with the class of 1942.

Mabel married C. Donald Hanson in Crookston, Minn., on March 27, 1943. They lived and raised their family in McCanna, N.D. Donald died on July 4, 1987, and Mabel later moved to Larimore.

She is a member of Elk Valley Lutheran Church and previously was a member of the Elk Valley ALCW,the Greater Grand Forks Deaf Club and the McCanna Homemakers Club.She also volunteered at the Larimore Good Samaritan Society for a few years.

Mabel enjoyed gardening, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mabel is survived by two daughters, Carolee Anderson (Jeff Kyllo), Larimore, and Candace (Jay) Nissen, Larimore; three sons, Ronald (Peggy) Hanson, Charlottesville, Va., Jeff Hanson, Fargo, N.D., and Mark (Lynae)Hanson, Bismarck, N.D.; one sister, Clara Drengson, Grand Forks, N.D.; one brother, Carl Quam, Tolna, N.D.; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and 6

sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Larimore Good

Samaritan Society.
