Cynthia Jean Martin, 47, of Amherst passed away Thursday, October 6, 2016 in Charlottesville.
Born in Lynchburg, January 25, 1969 to James Carroll Martin, Sr. and the late Audrey Jean Martin, Cynthia was a teachers aide with Amherst County Schools and a member of Kingswood Baptist Church, Arrington.
In addition to her father, she is survived by three daughters: Megan Martin Campbell (Lucas), Courtney Martin and Brianna Martin and their father, Roger Martin all of Amherst; her brother, Rev. James Carroll Martin, Jr. (Jan) of Amherst; her sisters: Jennifer M. Paisley (Bobby) of Amherst and Vickie M. Lively (Steve) of Nelson County; her parents-in-law: Sam and Jean DeLaura and Warren and Joyce Martin; and ten nieces and nephews: Daniel Martin, Jacob Martin (Wife, Candace and Son, Kayden), Nicolette Paisley, Christian Paisley, Tiffany Campbell (Husband, Chris and Daughter, Alyssa), Loren Beale, Taylor Tolbert, Mary Katherine Tolbert, Hayley Martin and Tucker Martin.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her baby boy, Tristan Martin; and her grand parents: Gladys T. Martin, and Parrish and Janice Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Sunday, October 9, 2016 at Clifford Baptist Church. Interment will follow in Jonesboro Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 PM, Saturday at the Church and other times at the home of her daughter, Megan, 125 Nicewood Place, Amherst.
