Max E. Parrott

Max Eugene Parrott was born August 2, 1933 at his family's home in Afton, IA, to Ivan and Hazel (Wilson) Parrott. He had one younger brother, R. Larry Parrott. Max graduated from Afton High School in 1952 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He married his high school sweetheart, Phyllis Hartsook, on September 25, 1953. Together they raised five children, three boys and two girls, during his 20 years in the Air Force. Max did two tours overseas and was very proud of his service in the military. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling, camping, hunting, and fishing. Max was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his loving wife. He is survived by his children Rick (Pat) of Peculiar, MO; Doug of Kansas City, MO; Greg (Lori) of Fordland, MO; Renee (Brett) White of LaVista, NE; and Stacey Haase of Alamogordo, NM; 12 grandchildren Beth, Jacob, Matt, Ryan, Melissa, Amanda, Hannah, Brian, Nicole, Kayley, Zach, and Jesse; and 17 great-grandchildren
