<p>Lovat, Douglas</p><p><br></p><p>Died in peace at the Brockville General Hospital, July 20, 2015, with his loving wife Jo Ann, by his side, after a lengthy illness which Doug faced with grace and courage. Douglas Russell Abington (Retired Director of Pensions and Group Benefits at Air Canada) is survived by his siblings Timothy Lovat (Janice), Melanie Lovat, Holly Cairns (Jim) and Richard Lovat, as well as his in-laws Rehbern Perry (Theo), Rick Perry (Shirley Schulz) and Jill Burgess (Steve). Also survived by nieces and nephews and by one great niece and nephew. Doug was predeceased by his parents Eleanore and Douglas James Lovat.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are entrusted with Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland. A celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be gratefully acknowledged. I cannot believe I did not know how ill Doug was. He was so kind to me when I retired, treating me to golf at Beaconsfield and dinner as well. I am shocked and send my thoughts and fond memories to his wife and relatives.
