Mary Ann Gadbury was born April 4th, 1927, in Mexico City, Mexico, to Joseph Henry Gadbury and Frieda Johana Gadbury. Her father worked for the American Embassy, and her mother was a missionary. She moved up to the states and finished her education in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, attending Iowa Central Community College. Some of her many professions include: newsroom proof reader, bookkeeper, assistant kindergarten teacher, writer, home builder, and design draftsman for the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico. Throughout all this, her main job and interest was painting. She has painted portraits, murals in schools, countless landscapes, and many things dear to her heart. Her paintings can be found around the world. Her main passion has always been the Lord. She has said, “I desire to always do my best and do it for the Lord and His glory – I love all He has created.” When she retired from Los Alamos Labs she said, “Now I just want to help people.” And she did! She was married to Paul Bargar. Children are Toni Olson, married to Gary, of Omaha. Steven Maxwell, married to Teri, of Leavenworth, KS. Lanette Forck, married to Jim of Peoria, IL. Grandchildren are Jay Olson, Tiffany Koenen, Jason Forck, Nick Forck, Nathan Maxwell, Christopher Maxwell, Sarah Maxwell, Joseph Maxwell, John Maxwell, Anna Maxwell, Jesse Maxwell, and Mary Maxwell. She had 17 great grand children. Mary also lived in Rolla, Mo, where she married James Maxwell. Later she moved to White Rock, NM; Long Grove, IA; Peoria, IL; and finally to Omaha. Visitation will be at Reichmuth funeral home Wednesday, May 21, 5:30 -7:30 pm. Services to honor Mary will be held at Streams of Life Lutheran Church (3506 N. 147th St. Omaha, Ne) at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, May 22rd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Moody Bible Institute or the Alzheimer’s Association.
