A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Buhl with Rev. Fr. Fred Method celebrating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the Mass at the church on Thursday with a Knights of Columbus Rosary at 10 AM. Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery-Buhl. Arrangements are entrusted to Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Chisholm. Philip J. “Phil” Kinsman, age 90, of Buhl, died Friday, April 15, 2016, at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl. He was born on June 27, 1925, in Buhl to Philip and Lucile (Goodspeed) Kinsman. He was a 1943 graduate of Martin Hughes High School in Buhl and attended Virginia Junior College. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II and was a lifelong Buhl resident. Phil was united in marriage on April 10, 1950 in Mt. Iron, to Elsa B. Maki. He worked as a clerk-bookkeeper at Pickands Mather Mining Co. in Hibbing and later as a plant manager for Dow Chemical Co.’s explosives plant in Biwabik, retiring in 1990 after 30 years of service. He was an active member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church – Buhl and the Buhl Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed softball, fishing, hunting, curling, bowling, chess, music and doing puzzles. He is survived by his wife – Elsa B.; children – Cindy L. (Steve) Yukich of Mission, TX, Roberta J. (Donald) Osse of Deer River, MN, Kelly A. (Ronald) Bonazza of Grand Rapids, MN, Patrice J. (John) Pritchard of Hibbing, James P. (Susan) Kinsman of St. Paul, MN, Mary B. (Mike) Teitelbaum of Duluth; 18 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; sister-in-law – Feimi Talso of Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson – Jeremiah.
