Melvin Swyers

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Melvin John Swyers on Thursday February 13 in his 49th year. Beloved partner of Nancy Sipalay and son of Wilfreda Swyers and the late Neil Swyers. He was a very loving father to his sons Jacob Swyers (Daniela Dabrowski), Travis Swyers (Skylar Jamieson) and step father to Rexcy Jones S. Ricablanca, Lovely Princess Ricablanca, and Christopher Bennett (Sylvia Bennett). He was a wonderful and generous grandfather to Sirena, Edison, Cayleigh, Keegan, Adalyn, and Kyah. Melvin leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories with his twin brother; Raymond Swyers (Kathy) and sister; Ruby. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephews; Joshua, Ashley, Crystal, Paige, Bailey, Randi, Katie, Anthony, and Kody. Melvin will also be missed by many family members and friends in St. George’s, Newfoundland. Melvin was a strong willed individual that was loved by his whole family and his work family at Selectone Paints Inc. in Toronto for 21 years. Cremation has already taken place. Family and friends will be received at Demarco Funeral Home (3725 Keele St, Toronto) on Thursday February 20 from 6-9PM. The funeral mass will take place at St. Stanislaus Kostka Roman Catholic Church (8 St Ann St, Hamilton) on Saturday February 22 at 10am. Melvin will truly be missed by all and may he rest in paradise with our Lord.
