Vincent Caccese Obituary

Caccese, Vincent E. Esq., Vincent E. Caccese Esq., 102 years of age passed away quietly at the Elant Nursing Home in Goshen, New York on October 18, 2016. He had a long and full life and was ready, and even anxious, to join his beloved wife “Clemmy” today, which would have been their 75th Anniversary. Vincent was born on August 24, 1914 to Antonio and Irene Caccese. He graduated from Ohio University and the St. John’s School of Law and successfully practiced law for over 75 years in Brooklyn. He was a respected attorney and enjoyed wonderful relationships with judges, lawyers, associates and most importantly, with his clients. Vincent served in the United States Army for four years during World War Two with the Office of Strategic Services. He married the love of his life, Clementine Caccese on October 18, 1941. He was predeceased by his wife who passed on December 26, 1996 and by his son Anthony, who died several months later. He is survived by his sons Albert and Vincent (Rose), and his daughter, Irene (Joya) Caccese. He is also survived by his grandsons Michael (Colleen) and John Caccese, Jeffrey and Daniel Piccolo, and Vincent Caccese; his granddaughter Karen (Scott) Matson, Gina DiGaudio, Corie Caccese, Christina Langella and Elaina Carroll, Cathy , Jenny, Julie Caccese ; great-grandsons Ryan, Dylan, Christopher, Luke, Michael, Ethan, Ben ; great-grand daughters Avery, Samantha, Charlotte, Stephanie, Lila, Izzy and Sara. Vincent lived a full life and served on many boards, committees, commissions and professional and charitable associations. Although too numerous to list, he was most proud of representing the NYS Committee on Character and Fitness in the Second Judicial Dept.; a member of the Board of Directors of the Brooklyn Federal Savings Bank; President of the Bay Ridge Lawyers Association and President of Gardiners Bay Country Club on Shelter Island, where he and his family summered from 1953 to 1999. Vincent was not a fan of wakes, and as a result there will be no calling hours at the McLaughlin and Sons Funeral Home, which will be handling the arrangements. There will be a memorial mass at 12pm on Monday, October 24, 2016, at St. Anselm’s Catholic Church at 356 – 82nd Street, Brooklyn, NY. Memorial contributions in memory of Vincent E. Caccese can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital P. O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38148 or on line at www.stjude.org/memorial.
