Wilma Lancaster Sasser, 90, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family. Wilma was born in Wayne County on October 29, 1929 to the late Lee and Eula Pate Lancaster. She was married for 68 years to the late Lee Sasser, Jr. Wilma was the kindest and most loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to everyone. She will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know her. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 17, 2020 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a service to celebrate Wilma’s life at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel with Rev. Horace Ferguson and Rev. Ira Williford officiating. Interment will take place Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. Wilma is survived by her daughters, Gail Shearin and husband Malcolm, Debby Sasser, and Jill Sasser (Wayne Dotter), all of Goldsboro; son, Jack Lee Sasser of Raleigh; grandchild, Kristin Shearin Mayo and husband Patrick of Sterling VA. She is also survived by her dear k-9 friend and companion, Teddy. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Edna Mae Parks, Eva Ginn, Frances Creech and John Lee Lancaster.
