Julie Ann Hicks Loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Friend Waynesville, NC - Julie Hicks, 69, passed away at McCracken Nursing Home in Waynesville, on Friday, February 14, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Lela Mull, son Mark S. Hicks, one brother and sister-in-law Billy and Sue Mull. Julie is survived by her daughter, Lela Hicks (Mike); lifelong friends, Bud (Katherine) Hicks; brother, Richard Joe Mull; sister, Lela Franklin, all of Waynesville; and one brother Hugh Mull (Carrie) of Gaffney, SC; three grandchildren, Daniel "Chase" Evans, Tricia Ledford (Jose), and Michael Stamey; one great-grandchild Hannah Ledford. Julie worked as a CNA for many years before her retirement from Smoky Mountain Nursing and Rehab in 2015. Celebration of Life Visitation will be held Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Smoky Mountain Chapel Smoky Mountain Cremations and Funeral Service of Clyde is caring for the family and the online register is available at www.smokymountaincremations.com.

When Julie and I met we gave each other a nick name...she was doorknob and I was derwood and that's the names we kept to greet each other. Julie you will be missed dearly...love you my friend

I am so sorry about Julie. I worked with her at Autumn Care. She was a hard worker and was loving and caring of the residents. She had a pretty smile and loved to joke around with her coworkers. She spoke proudly of her family and loved them very much. RIP JULIE You will... Continue Reading
