David Irving Groves was born Jan 17, 1941, and passed on February 14, 2020. Following his long illness, he passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife Sandra (Poskus) Groves of 58 years by his side. David was a lifetime resident of Raynham Ma. He was the Son of the late Irving and Effie Groves also of Raynham Ma. He is survived by his siblings Virginia Fruzzetti and Barbara Ellis, and the late Janet Hutchins Loving father of Alan Groves and wife Donna Groves, Daughter Patricia Groves and companion Dominic, Daughter Tracy (Groves) Swinson and husband Michael, Grandfather of 6 and Great Grandfather of 4, also several nieces and nephews along with many close friends. David joined the U.S Army in 1958 and served in the reserves until 1966. He was a member of the Bridgewater Masonic lodge as well as the American Legion Raynham. He retired from the United States Postal service after 38 years of being Raynham’s rural route 1 carrier and received a special achievement award for 30 years of outstanding safety and became one of the elite members for being a “Million-mile driver” without an accident. David enjoyed his time as scoutmaster for his Raynham troop, also spent lots of free time Fishing, gardening, and hunting. He was also an avid metal detector enthusiast and absolutely loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Services will be held at the Raynham First Congregational Church,785 S Main St Raynham on March 6th, 10 am followed by refreshments at the church hall. Burial will be held privately.
