Ann E. Verdesca Obituary

Ann E. Verdesca, 83, of Morristown, NJ passed away Friday, February 14, 2020. Born in Engelwood, NJ to Inez and Harold Copping, she was raised in Cliffside Park, NJ. She resided in Morristown for the last 60 years. She graduated from Fordham University in 1957, did graduate work at Middlebury/Bread Loaf School of English and received her Masters Degree in English from Columbia University in 1960. She began her career as a High School English teacher in Cliffside Park, NJ before focusing on volunteering at her children's schools and Macculloch Hall Museum, among other places. She was a devoted member of Assumption Church. She was predeceased by Arthur, her husband of 57 years. She is survived by her twin sister, Elaine and her husband Ed Hanington; 3 children: Stephen (and wife Pat Durner), daughter Julia Lucivero and husband PJ; daughter Edith Kaplan and husband Christopher; as well as 5 grandchildren Andrew and Alison Verdesca, Mark and Laura Lucivero and Jillian Kaplan. Friends and family are invited to attend a viewing at Doyle Funeral Home, 106 Maple Avenue, Morristown on Tuesday, February 18th from 4-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, Morristown on Wednesday, February 19th at 10am. Interment Holy Rood Cemetery.
