Our cherished mother, Mabel Elizabeth Allen, age 101 of Berkley, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020. A daughter of two immigrants, she was born December 3, 1918 in Pennsylvania to Mabel Anderson Shaw (Sweden) and William Shaw (England). She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fred Allen; her parents; and her brothers, Charles and Frank. Surviving are her five close-knit children, Jack (and dear friend Karen), Nathalie (Butch), Darlene (Robert), Lynn (David), and Pamela (Rob); eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great great grandsons. Mabel faithfully worshipped every Sunday at Greenfield Church of Christ for over 50 years. She was also fortunate to have so many special friends and neighbors throughout her life. Mabel’s family was her greatest treasure and legacy. She was blessed to be so supported and loved. Thank you to all who given your love, cards, and visits. She will be privately interred next to her husband at Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley.
