Ronald Lee Tidrow 80, of Weatherford passed away surrounded by his loved ones on February 13, 2020. Funeral services will be February 17, 2020 at 11am at the First Christian Church with Charles Kuhn officiating the service. Family will welcome friends for a visitation on February 16, 2020 from 6pm -7pm at the First Christian Church. The Interment will follow service at Indian Creek Cemetery in Mineral Wells under the direction of Melton Kitchens Funeral Home. Ronald Lee Tidrow was born July 15, 1939 in Throckmorton, Texas to Emerson and Etha Tidrow. While in high school, Ronnie enlisted in the National Guard. In 1959, while in his National Guard uniform, Ronnie stopped off at the local skating rink. Mona was at the rink, and upon laying eyes on Ronnie in his uniform, she fell head over heels. After graduating Breckenridge High School, he went to work at Safeway in Graham. The couple dated for a brief time before Ronnie asked Mona to marry him in late 1959. Then the owners of a local Breckenridge burger place called, Dairy Mart hired him to be a manager. The couple was married on June 1, 1960 in Weatherford, Texas. Shortly after the couple married Ronnie ended up being sent Fort Polk, Louisiana in 1961. After a year of service he was discharged and came back home. Ronnie had many things he was talented at, one was working with his hands. His wood working skills were second to none. While doing various wood working projects, he worked as a printer at Breckenridge American for 30 years. Not that what he had going on was not enough on his plate; he ended up managing and owning the local Whoa and Go convenience store. With Ronnie and Mona having three children their family quickly grew. He had an unspeakable love for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family was everything to him. Ronnie was a man to not be shy of always asking lots of questions to those in his family; whether it is who you were dating, what were you cooking for dinner and who you were fixing it for to where was everyone at that particular day. His questions always brought laughter with those around him. The family was just accustomed to him being full of questions. Ronnie was always seen with a toothpick, bubba mug and a hat. Ronnie always found it a joy to lend a hand to help all his kids, especially his grandkids, like Isaac’s pinewood derby car. Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Amber Galik, brothers; Douglas Tidrow (WWII Vet), Jackie Tidrow, sisters; Modean Easterling and Betty Pester. Ronnie is survived by his wife of almost sixty years, Mona of Weatherford, daughters; Deborah Upton and husband, Malcolm of Azle, Renee Sullivan and husband, Larry of Poolville, son, Rickie Tidrow and wife Christi of Breckenridge, sister, Winnette Bowman of Carlsbad, New Mexico, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, as well as one special one on the way. There are also numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friends. He may be gone from this earth, but not from our hearts.
