Alma Sue Ramsey Obituary

Mrs. Alma Sue Norman Ramsey, daughter of the late J. Q. Norman, Sr. and Flora Bratton Norman, was born in Iredell County on May 4, 1941. She peacefully passed away at Accordius Health of Statesville, on February 13, 2020.
She attended Unity High School and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Tommy Norman and Renard Carlton; sisters, Jo Evelyn Morrison and Nevada Parker; nephews, Raymond Norman and Allen Parker, nieces, Annette Morrison and Louise Parker; three daughters-in-law, Sherwin Turner Ramsey, Deborah Ragland Ramsey and Sandra Faye Ramsey; a sister-in-law, Carrie Norman and a brother-in-law, Dr. John Parker. She was married o Nathaniel Ramsey, Jr., who survives.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life three sons, Glenn Edward (Regina) Ramsey of Troutman, Douglas Nathaniel Ramsey and Thomas A. Ramsey, both of Statesville; her grandchildren, Desean Maurice Ramsey, Edward Nathaniel Ramsey, Stephon James, Devin O’neal Ramsey, Shawn Austin Holland, Marquise Ragland, Thomas Ramsey, II, Dontae Ragland, Kendell Ragland, and Erik Jerard Ramsey; one great grandchild, Nylan Marquise Ramsey; three brothers, J. Q. Norman, Jr. of Statesville, Ervin Norman (Paulette) of Ronda and Marvin Norman (Juanita) of Statesville; four sisters, Flora C. Kennedy (George) of Long Branch, New Jersey, Mary H. Wimbish (Clarence) of Atlantic City, New Jersey, Jo Ann Thomas (William) of Charlotte, and Queen E. Morrison (Wayne) of Catawba. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at The Mary B. Bigham Memorial Chapel of Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Pastor Glenn J. Usry will officiate and burial will follow in the Belmont Cemetery. Mrs. Ramsey will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
