Geraldine "Gerri" A. Schumann

Geraldine A. Schumann, age 72, of Tripoli, WI, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, WI. Gerri was born on October 27, 1947, in Green Bay, WI, to the late Willard and Ione (Van De Hei) Gerrits. She was married to James Schumann on February 14, 1970, in Pier-Willow, WI; he passed away in 2011. Gerri was a high school graduate of the Romeoville High School in Illinois. After graduation, she entered the workforce. Jim and Gerri later moved to the northwoods where she was employed as a teacher’s aide with the Prentice School District and also worked at the Tri-Mart BP in Tripoli. Gerri enjoyed reading, playing sudoku, and knitting. Above all, she cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren. Gerri was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomahawk. Survivors include: 2 Sons, Larry (Treasa) Schumann, of Ladysmith, WI, and Kevin (Jacki Grigg) Schumann, of Tomahawk; 2 Sisters, Rose (Dana) Kiesling, of Illinois, and Barbara “Barbie” Smerud, of Texas. Gerri is further survived by her Grandchildren, Alec, Peyton, Trevor, Zach, Shelby, Alyssa, and Chloe. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Willard and Ione; her Husband, Jim; 1 Brother, Larry, and 1 Sister, Ginny. Memorial Services for Geraldine Schumann will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at 11:00 AM, at Generations Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Mathein will officiate. The family will receive friends for Visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of Services at 11:00 AM.

Sorry to hear of Gerri's passing. She was a good friend to both my folks for many years. Always enjoyed seeing her at the gas station when I'd pass thru on my way home. I can hear her voice now as I think of her, and her laugh. My condolences to her family.

So sorry to hear of Geri's passing. She was a wonderful lady, always smiling and had a kind word to say . She will miss seeing her at the gas station.
