Anthony Celello Obituary

Anthony Joseph Celello, Jr., 76, of Woodbury, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017. He was the loving and devoted husband of Rosalie Zappone Celello. Anthony was born on May 27, 1940 in Waterbury, son of the late Anthony Joseph Celello, Sr. and Virginia Barbiero Celello. Anthony grew up in Naugatuck, and he attended St. Francis of Assisi grammar school and Sacred Heart High School. Anthony obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Master of Arts, and a Sixth Year from Southern Connecticut State University. He taught art and photography at Crosby High School. Anthony was an avid trap, skeet, and sporting clays shooter and ranked as a class AA trap shooter. He was a member of the Seymour Fish & Game Club and the Bristol Fish & Game Club. Anthony was passionate about art and culture, enjoyed playing golf, and was an ardent New York Yankees Fan. Anthony is survived by his wife Rosalie of Woodbury, his son Marc Antony of Atlanta, Georgia, his brother Michael (Bonnie) of Watertown, brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family at Our Lady of Lourdes Church. Anthony was a devout Catholic.
