He led an active life, always seeking new challenges, taking up skiing at age 50, windsurfing at 60 and kayaking at 80. He was kayaking at the age of 94, downhill skiing at 95 and cycling the Brock Trail at 96. Sandy will be sorely missed by his five children, Connie Lou (Mark), John (Michelle), Margie (Domenic), Eric (Peggy) and Scott (Keely) as well as his sister Jean Jardine, 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Family was important to him and he touched the lives of his extended family across Canada and the USA. Sandy was predeceased by his wife Peggy, his brothers Hugh and Bill and his sister Mary. The family wishes to thank Dr. Au, Dr. Ashe, Palliative Care Brockville and his nurse Jennifer Johnson of Bayshore, for their support and care.
