Margaret Elizabeth Petrelle Obituary

Margaret E. Petrelle, 88, of Weirton, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020, at the Weirton Geriatric Center. Born August 14, 1931, in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy, Margaret was a daughter of the late Vincent and Rosa Crugnale DiFonzo. She was also preceded in death by her husband Joseph Petrelle on February 10, 2001, and her brother, Andrew DiFonzo, on August 15, 2007. Margaret was a homemaker, taking care of the home as her husband worked as a structural engineer at Weirton Steel. Life centered around their children and grandchildren, and they always cherished the time spent with family. Margaret and Joe loved to travel, and always looked forward to the annual family vacation at their timeshare in Massanutten, VA. A tradition that still carries on today. She was a member of Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Four Score Seniors, and the Thursday Morning Breakfast Bowling League at Steel Valley Lanes. Margaret will be remembered with love by her two sons, Michael J. (Sharon) Petrelle of Leland, NC, and Joseph C. (Terri) Petrelle of Walkersville, MD; her daughter, Loretta (Tim) Lescallette of Weirton, WV; her sister, Patricia (Dr.David) Blanc of Weirton, WV; her eight grandchildren, that meant the world to her, Logan and Carly Lescallette, Adam (Erin), David (Ashley)Lindsey and Connor Petrelle, Elizabeth (Kevin) Fink, and Emily (Isaac) Liller; a great-grandson, Thomas Petrelle, and a great-grandchild on the way. Visitation will be 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Saturday, at the Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main St., Weirton. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday at Saint Joseph the Worker Roman Catholic Church. Rev. Father Tony Thurston will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Paul Cemetery, Weirton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association Research 225 N.
